Bloomgaard at ENTER Art Fair

Bloomgaard at ENTER Art Fair

At Lokomotivværkstedet, the ceilings are eight metres high, the surfaces are raw and industrial, and tall arched windows let in the light. On the Tuesday before the fair opened, the space was still empty. Daylight fell across the concrete floor and a long table standing in the middle of one of the halls.

This was where the seven floral installations were eventually placed and fine-tuned before being distributed throughout the fair.

The fair

Bloomgaard is the floral partner for ENTER Art Fair in Copenhagen, taking place from 27–30 August 2026. Held at Lokomotivværkstedet in Copenhagen SV, the fair brings together galleries from around the world.

We have created seven large-scale floral installations for the space. They are placed at the entrance and registration area, at the information desk, and in the Ruinart Art Room, where the VIP events are taking place.

Scale

Scale is the first thing to consider in a space like this. A bouquet that fills a dining table at home can easily disappear in a room of this size. The stems need to be longer, the compositions wider, and each installation needs to hold its own alongside ENTER Art Fair’s editorial expression and the raw character of Lokomotivværkstedet. At the same time, they need to stand out without competing with the galleries and the art.

We are working with, among other things, green hydrangeas, white anthuriums, orchids and trailing amaranthus in shades of green, white and blue-violet.

The vessels

The vases come from Christian Bruun in Charlottenlund, who creates large stoneware vessels with beautiful glazes in a range of colours. Their weight and presence give the installations a sense of stability and calm that lighter vessels simply cannot provide.

Assembly

All seven installations were assembled at our studio in advance, with each one designed to feel connected to the others without being identical. They were then taken apart for transport to Lokomotivværkstedet, where they were reassembled and fine-tuned in the entrance hall before being carried into place, one by one.

Permanence

All of the flowers are artificial, made from real-touch materials. They will remain in Lokomotivværkstedet throughout the week, looking just as fresh on the final day as they did on the first. There is no watering or maintenance required along the way.

That is part of what makes them work in a space like this. A fair runs over several days, and fresh flowers can be past their best by the second day. These installations look the same on Tuesday afternoon as they do on Sunday morning.
